So I'm pretty excited - my painting, Thoughts on Art - made it into the juried show at the SC State Fair! This was the first time I've entered. I didn't win a prize, but I don't care. A painting of mine is being displayed and hundreds of people are going to see it!

Last night the fair organizers had a reception for everyone who had been juried in and an awards ceremony for the winners. It was really nice - so much more than what I was expecting! There were hors d'oeuvres & wine and I'm all about free food and wine! *smile*

There was quite a turnout, so I'm not the only one apparantly. Plus, I was able to see some photography from some friends that made it into the show - here's a link to their Etsy shop, Shiny Squirrel Photography - pretty awesome.

A good night and a good feeling. I feel like I'm getting my foot in the door of the art world. My art has been accepted and is in the ranks of great company! So for the rejections I've come accross in the last year, this has been a validation and a boost to keep going.
Onward to next year!!!
