Absentee Blogger

Has it really been almost a year since I've last blogged???

It wasn't planned. Life got in the way. If you're still here...

THANK YOU

Anyway...

We had an official Snow Day last week. Here are some pics of the powdery fun...

Blogging in Solitude

I've been reading Journal of a Solitude by May Sarton. The title is what caught my eye, as I had never heard of her before. I wanted to read anothers' perspective about being alone all the time. Although the only similarities Sarton and I have may be temperament and the struggle with depression.

What I find interesting about this book is that it was written in the 1970's (or at least published in the 70's). Long before the instant gratification on the Internet and blogging. She wrote her daily doings and musings, without knowing if anyone would ever read it. She wrote to document. A testament of her life, her thoughts, her struggles. I think this may change the way I blog.

I've been trying too hard. I TRY to write things that I think would interest people. I edit and re-edit, thinking that if I write from off the top of my head, no one would be interested. As I'm writing this right now, I'm imagining a yawn fest.

But I'm realizing that to be authentic and real in my blogging, I have to document all the time. Or at least most of the time. Sometimes, my life is pretty boring. But it's real. Sometimes, my life is so busy that I think I'm going to lose my mind! Again, it's real. And it's those ups and downs that make a tapestry of life or of a blog, if you will.

Anyway, I'd love to hear thoughts on this in the comments.

Blog Perfect

Hello!

It's no secret that I have been blah-ging lately. I've been in a funk and unfortunately, I've taken it out on my blog. And, just when I was seriously thinking about packing it up and calling it a day, a fellow blogger, Robin Norgren, offered a new product of hers 90 Days to Blogging Your Business at a ridiculous price, so I just had to bite.

Let me tell you, it's just what I needed to get a jump start on blogging again. It's short, to the point, and there are great tips and ideas to keep a blog going, even if you're on vacation (or in a funk, as in my case).

So, you should be seeing some improvements to my blog in the next 90 days. While I'm at it, do you have any tips for how you keep blogging from becoming blah-ging? Please share in the comments!
