Blog Perfect

Hello!

It's no secret that I have been blah-ging lately. I've been in a funk and unfortunately, I've taken it out on my blog. And, just when I was seriously thinking about packing it up and calling it a day, a fellow blogger, Robin Norgren, offered a new product of hers 90 Days to Blogging Your Business at a ridiculous price, so I just had to bite.

Let me tell you, it's just what I needed to get a jump start on blogging again. It's short, to the point, and there are great tips and ideas to keep a blog going, even if you're on vacation (or in a funk, as in my case).

So, you should be seeing some improvements to my blog in the next 90 days. While I'm at it, do you have any tips for how you keep blogging from becoming blah-ging? Please share in the comments!

Wednesday Thoughts

Hello! I've just updated the look of my blog - what do you think? I still want to tweak it more and make a few small changes, but I'm liking it so far.

Brave Girls Club

I've been working on the Soul Restoration e-course over at Brave Girl's Club. It's really great! And a lot different than what I was expecting. It's really having me look at who I was before all the events of life weighed me down and try to get back to that girl. I needed this class VERY much! Thank you Leslie for recommending it to me!

And I've been thinking a lot about the direction I want to take my blog. I have some ideas that I'm going to try to implement in the next couple of months. I've been fearful to put my whole heart and soul into it because I've been afraid that people will laugh or respond negatively. BUT, seeing the positive response from my Fat Girl Skinny blog makes me realize how silly I've been. And if someone does respond negatively, they're probably not someone I want to be around anyway.

So, I'm looking forward to the next couple of months. I can't believe it's almost Summer!

The Word for 2011

I don’t normally make New Year Resolutions. Typically, people never follow through with them, including me. But, with everything I want to accomplish in 2011, I feel the need to document it somehow. So, this year I’m stating what I want to accomplish in 2011 and then will try to sum that up with ONE word. This idea came to me when I started reading the blog {Words of Me Project}. What do I want for 2011?

~ I want to feel healthier – eat better, get regular exercise, drink water, etc. Hopefully this result in weight loss – but I’d be happy with just feeling more energetic.

~ I also want to put my all into a creative business which hopefully brings success, so that I can once again contribute monetarily to my family.

~ Lastly, I want to maintain my home so that it will remain organized and peaceful. Right now, when the clutter gets the best of me, my home feels very chaotic – and that’s not how I want my family to live.

So, I can only think of one word that will help me accomplish all of these things and that is:

Discipline.

And I’m approaching the idea of Discipline like I’m “mothering” myself. I don’t let my son eat bad things, so why should I? And when I worked full-time, I had set hours that were dedicated to what I needed to get done, so I should be able to apply the same time management to my creative business and things that need to be done around the house.

I’m very optimistic about 2011! I’m ending 2010 a little under the weather, which means I’ll just have more incentive next week to get going on everything I want to accomplish. I can’t wait!

Kind over Matter

I have become a blog-a-holic since I've started my blog and joined Twitter and one blog in particular I think needs to be highlighted. I love, love, LOVE, Kind Over Matter! This blog exists simply for positivity, a bright sunny spot in the day, to bring joy to its' readers. I get so excited when they post something new, which usually includes a fabulous photo or picture or poem. It lifts me up and puts a smile on my face.

Right now, they're campaigning to win a grant through Pepsi, to help new artists realize their dreams. I love it and vote everyday for them! I'm hoping that you'll vote too - if not everyday, at least once - for me, please?

Thanks, and as always, I wish you:
